A leftover stump isn’t just ugly — it attracts termites, sends up suckers for years, and makes mowing miserable. We bring in a dedicated stump grinder, chase the root flare down to where you’ll never see it again, and leave you with a fillable hole and a pile of mulch.
Signs it might be time to call us
- You had a tree removed and the stump is still there
- New growth (suckers) keeps coming up around an old stump
- You want to replant in the same spot
- A stump is in the way of a fence, patio, or pour
- You’re selling the house and the yard needs to look done
How we do the work
Below-grade grinding
Standard depth is 6–8 inches below grade — enough to seed grass over. We can go deeper for replanting or hardscape.
Surface-root grinding
For stumps with big surface roots running across the lawn, we’ll grind those out too on request.
Chip cleanup
Default is to leave chips piled for you (great mulch). For a small extra, we haul them off and leave fill dirt instead.
Tight-access jobs
Our smaller grinder fits through a 36-inch gate — fenced backyards, between houses, no problem.
Heads up: grinding doesn’t pull every root. If you’re planning to build over the spot or want every fiber gone, mention that — we have an excavation option that gets the whole root ball.
